I was very excited to be invited to take part in Jungle City 2011, a project that aims to raise awareness about Asia's endangered wildlife. Artists were given blank animal sculpture and asked to paint or decorate it. There were elephants, tigers, crocodiles, hornbills and orangutans... all life-size! I wanted to address the issue of wildlife habitat loss, due to exploitation by humans (represented here by a swarm of parasitic houses) Since orangutans in particular suffer from this problem, my choice of sculpture was easy!   130 animals were unleashed in Edinburgh, in summer 2011. They were exhibited all over the city and at the end of the event they were auctioned off to raise funds for conservation projects in Asia. The work taking shape in the studio.
